Vaishnavi didn’t start singing ’til she was almost 30 when she discovered mantra chanting through yoga. In 2004, she was introduced to the bhakti path through meeting Amma which she considers her greatest “teaching” – a flowering of the heart. She spent a number of years in an indian ashram soaking up the practice before she began leading kirtan herself. Having been so painfully shy, she is passionate about encouraging and empowering others to find their own voices and share them.

Her journey began in 2000 when she encountered mantra chanting through Kundalini Yoga. In 2004, she was introduced to bhajan and the bhakti path through meeting Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi) which she considers her greatest “teaching” – a flowering of the heart.

She feels blessed to have had no formal voice training, although she has spent time un-learning with Rajeswar Bhattacharya—the foremost singer of Tagore raga—and is currently deepening into her most authentic sound on the Naked Voice Facilitator training with Chloe Goodchild.
